Mussar Mentoring Services

The Mussar Institute is pleased to introduce you to people in our network who offer mentoring, private lessons, and guidance in Mussar study and practice. Our purpose is to help those who would like individualized support in their Mussar learning and practice to find people who can mentor them one-on-one.

Below is a brief introduction to the first one to offer these services – Dr. Shirah Bell. It will be up to you to consult with Shirah to determine whether you would like to engage her and, if so, how you would like to structure the mentoring services. In the future we anticipate more mentors will offer their services.

TMI will not monitor the mentoring service, nor dictate what is said or done. If you decide to engage a mentor, it will be your responsibility and TMI will have no liability in connection with that engagement.

Your mentor will donate to TMI 10% of fees you pay for any work you do together.

Service offer
The heart of my work is helping people find meaning and sacredness in everyday life. I offer to mentor you in the theory and practice of Mussar, guiding you in applying these principles in your life. I sometimes draw on practices from my spiritual guidance and coaching work, as well as my experience in business, financial planning, and communications. We will start by clarifying your learning goals, agree upon our approach (including how often we will talk, topics we will include, and areas that you would like to work on) and will agree upon the program we will undertake.

I offer a complimentary consultation of 20 minutes to talk about the possibilities.

Fees: $120 per 60 minute hour. Sliding scale available.

My professional expertise includes:
Director of TMI’s web basic offering, Everyday Holiness; teacher of local Mussar classes; TMI Board member; Certified Spiritual Director; and coach in listening, anxiety, and money.

Secular - Smith College BA in Economics and Psychology, Stanford Graduate School of Business - MBA (finance) and Ph.D. (individual and interpersonal dynamics).
