Alden Solovy
Alden Solovy is a modern piytan—poet, teacher, and spiritual leader—who blends Torah and verse to inspire communities worldwide. His work, shaped by personal tragedy, bridges poetry, song, meditation, and prayer, resonating deeply with both heart and scholarship. Alden has taught at HUC-JIR, Limmud, and synagogues across North America. He is the author of four CCAR Press books, including These Words (2023), which won a Silver Medal from the Independent Book Publishers. Now based in Jerusalem, he serves as Liturgist in Residence at the Pardes Institute and founded ManKind Project Israel.

Program Overview:

In times of darkness and despair, gratitude can feel out of reach. Yet, gratitude holds the promise of being a powerful form of healing.

In this 3-session intensive course, poet and liturgist Alden Solovy will guide participants through an exploration of the transformative power of gratitude using Torah, meaningful conversations, and simple writing exercises.

Together, we will examine our personal relationships with gratitude and discover the potential medicine it offers in difficult moments.

 

During this course, you will:

  • Explore the healing power of gratitude through Torah and spiritual teachings.
  • Engage in reflective writing exercises to deepen your personal connection to gratitude.
  • Participate in conversations that offer new perspectives on gratitude during challenging times.

Live Lectures over Zoom, group discussions and Q&A

 

Sessions:

Tuesdays, 12:00 pm ET (12/3, 12/10, 12/17)
