Reading and learning a Mussar text are done in a specific way. You don’t just read through the words as you would a novel or newspaper article. One partner reads a sentence aloud and then pauses. Either partner can then ask a question or give a reflection or illustration to support or challenge what the author says. When the point has been thoroughly considered and there seems to be no more to say, go on to the next sentence.”
