Format: 4 Sessions (each part)
Ruchi Koval is the co-founder and director of the Jewish Family Experience in Cleveland. She is a certified parenting coach, educator, author, musician, and motivational speaker. Her first book, "Conversations with G-d," was released in 2016. Ruchi was a recipient of the CJN's 18 Difference Maker award in 2015. She has been teaching Mussar from classical texts to hundreds of students for well over a decade.
Course Overview:
This new and innovative course, flexibly designed for all learners, will draw contemporary life lessons from Biblical personalities. Participants will come to understand Mussar concepts both theoretically and practically.
Part 1 of the course will explore four Middot / Soul Traits, through learning and practice, over four weeks:
- Gevurah – Strength and resisting negative influences [Noah]
- Chesed – Lovingkindness [Rebecca]
- Emet – Truth and overcoming the challenges of living truthfully [Jacob]
- Hashpa’ah – Influencing and Inspiring others [Dina]
Part 2 of the course draws from Nevi'im / Prophets and explores the following four Middot:
- Emunah – Faith and Faithfulness [King David]
- Manhigut – Leadership [Deborah]
- Chochma – Wisdom [King Solomon]
- Ometz lev – Courage [Queen Esther]
Format and Delivery:
Duration: 4 sessions (75 min.) per part.
Delivery: Live Web Meetings.
Course Materials: Materials for personal practice and optional chevruta study will be provided.
Sessions:
Part 1: Tuesdays, 4:00 pm ET (11/11, 11/18, 11/25, 12/2).
Part 2: Tuesdays, 4:00 pm ET (2/3, 2/10, 2/17, 2/24).
