Week 3: Focusing on Compassion (Rachamim)

C- Contemplate: “Pious Jews are not ones who worry about their neighbor’s soul and their own stomachs, but about their own souls and their neighbor’s stomach.” (Rabbi Yisrael Salanter)

O - Observe: What problem in the world most troubles you? What need of others do you feel most compelled to address?

U - Use: “Just as God is called compassionate, you too must be compassionate.” (Maimonides)

N - Notice how you choose (consciously or not) to be of service to others. Is it by donating? volunteering? planning? cooking? listening? Consider what your mode of service says about your inherent strengths.

T - Try: Choose one or more of what you see as your virtues, skills, or talents. Use them to do something for someone else each day this week.
